Peace Making
Are you a relationship-builder? Are you interested in using Compassionate Communication to resolve conflicts? Why not consider serving on SFUU’s Peace Team? Members of the SFUU Peace Team are:
available to members of the congregation as a resource for resolving conflicts
responsible for facilitating congregational workshops and practice groups on conflict resolution and on how to be in relation with one another.
Practicing right relations through the use of direct address and compassionate or nonviolent communication (NVC) allows us to maintain a culture of peace within our congregation, affirming our second principle to promote justice, equity, and compassion in human relations.
Every member of SFUU is encouraged to be a peacemaker as we minister to each other, but when conflict does arise, having Peace Teams in place builds community and allowing for more open communication and deeper levels of collaboration and community. So, if peace-making calls to you, please contact Val Bowman for more information!
