Earth Day
Each year SFUU celebrates Earth Day with a Sunday Service. This year we Mission Earth’s worship service highlighted celebrating the earth and some of the things that our congregation has done to care for the Earth. Joe Medeiros provided a botanist’s view of the wonders of the Earth and the congregation wrote many love letters to the mountains (especially the Sierras), hiking trails, trees (walnuts, junipers, redwoods, oaks, weeping willows, fruit trees, and California buckeyes to name a few), birds, flowers (daffodils, roses, wildflowers), water (rivers, oceans, snow), the sunshine, the animals, gardens (including the dirt), pollen, and Mother Earth in general. See below for these heartfelt, often poetic letters.
